Pray for Japan

I was walking around campus the other day and saw this simple yet powerful request.  The picture speaks for itself:

  1. Yes, we must pray for Japan, and many people do. This week I had to help a 'special education' boy prepare a devotion that he had to do with his class. I asked him if he had an idea, and without missing a beat he answered, 'I want to pray for Japan'. Together we selected Matthew 24: 1 - 8 as his 'text'. We had to practice several times before he was able to read it. After that we wrote a prayer. Then I asked him to do the devotion with me, as a trial run. When he read and prayed with me I got tears in my eyes. In the prayer that we wrote he did not only pray for Japan, but (his words) 'for all those who suffer from natural disasters'. All along he did not doubt that God has a purpose for calamities.
